Children's Centre Thunder Bay Board of Directors
The Children’s Centre is a not-for-profit organization which is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, whose role is to provide direction and leadership to the Centre. The Board uses a Policy Governance Model which ensures the Board is governing the organization on behalf of the community. It focusses on setting the expected end results and strategic directions for the organization while at the same time ensuring the Centre is operating in a prudent, ethical, and business-like manner.
Why become a board member?
Boards of Directors as a whole and as individuals make important contributions to their communities. They not only provide leadership for organizations, they are stewards of the mission and values; ultimately holding in trust the resources that are used to provide the much needed services. For you it is both an opportunity to give to your community, but it is also an opportunity to learn about leadership, services and the role of governance within our social services landscape. By becoming a Director for Children's Centre Thunder Bay, you are helping make important differences in the lives of children, youth and their families.
