Parent Council

Children’s Centre Thunder Bay has had an active Parent Council since 2016. Membership is comprised of parents, grandparents, and caregivers who have been involved with CCTB and/or other community services for their children and youth. We recognize that they have valuable knowledge through their own personal experiences and they know how these services can help or fail to help families.

The Parent Council is part of our commitment to engage meaningfully with parents through an active and ongoing partnership in order to ensure that their perspective is heard and upheld as a priority. Their input is highly valued and helps us to identify priorities and opportunities for strengthening services as well as shaping decision-making at both the organizational and systemic levels.

The Parent Council continues to advocate for children and services within Northwestern Ontario. Their recent work includes a video of shared experiences, "Navigating the Mental Health System in Northwestern Ontario". Click here to watch the video.

The Parent Council meets monthly in addition to other work groups and committee meetings. Membership is limited.
