The New Mentality

The New Mentality is a program sponsored by Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO), which is a province-wide network of groups developed and facilitated by youth, for youth ages 12 and up. Children’s Centre Thunder Bay is proud to be the partner agency for The New Mentality within Thunder Bay.

The New Mentality fosters a voice for youth to influence change within the mental health system and beyond. In partnership with adult allies, The New Mentality empowers youth leaders to advocate for mental health education and understanding across Ontario, with a primary goal being to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. On an annual basis, 2-3 members from each group attend a special event called Disable the Label, during which youth connect with one another and share the ideas and projects that they have developed.
