Board Opportunities
Why become a board member?
Boards of Directors as a whole and as individuals make important contributions to their communities. They not only provide leadership for organizations, but they are also stewards of the mission and values; ultimately holding in trust the resources that are used to provide the much-needed services. For you it is both an opportunity to give to your community, but it is also an opportunity to learn about leadership, services and the role of governance within our health and social services landscape. By becoming a Director for Children's Centre Thunder Bay, you are helping make important differences in the lives of children, youth and their families.
Successful Board members are recruited based on their value-adding capacity related to their lived experience, their diversity, as well as the skills they may bring related to governance, finance, human resources, legal, planning, management and human services.
The Board meets once a month to conduct Board business. Most members are expected to undertake additional responsibilities to further Children’s Centre Thunder Bay such as planning, policy work and other initiatives.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Children’s Centre Board of Directors, contact: Diane Walker, Chief Executive Officer at: 807-343-5006.
